PRODUCT ROADMAP

Clarity and structure for your first build

Moving from idea to execution can feel overwhelming. A Product Roadmap takes the uncertainty out of the process. I help founders translate messy ideas into a structured, prioritised plan that you can use to start confidently. You’ll know what to build first, what to leave until later, and how much it will cost, giving you clarity before you commit.

How the process works

The roadmap process is structured but simple, giving you clarity at every stage.

1. Discovery and asset review

We begin by reviewing your idea, any notes or research you already have, and your goals for launch. This ensures I understand the full picture before mapping requirements.

2. Feature mapping and prioritisation

Together we define each feature, explain why it matters, and map it against your user and business goals. I highlight “must-have” versus “nice-to-have” functionality, so your MVP stays lean and cost-effective.

3. Roadmap creation

I create a detailed roadmap that outlines exactly what to build first and what to leave until later. Everything is documented in Trello, with descriptions, attachments, and user flows, so your team has a clear reference point.

4. Costing and handoff

You’ll receive realistic cost and time estimates, giving you a clear picture of the investment required. At this stage you’ll have everything you need to approach developers, compare quotes, and start building with confidence. If needed, I can remain involved to support design or development decisions.

FAQs

Do I need to have my idea fully defined before starting?

No. Many founders come with rough notes, sketches, or half-formed ideas. The roadmap process is designed to bring clarity, not expect it upfront. I’ll help you shape the details as we go.

Can I use this if I don’t have developers yet?

Yes! In fact, this is the best time. A roadmap helps you get accurate quotes and choose the right development partner, rather than going in blind. It’s often used as a briefing tool to align agencies or freelancers before contracts are signed.

Will I get wireframes or visuals?

The roadmap focuses on requirements, flows, and priorities. It’s not a design package, but you’ll have a clear plan that can feed directly into UX Strategy and Design if you want to take the next step with me.

Can developers use this to start building my MVP?

Yes. Everything is documented in Trello with detailed descriptions, so developers can pick it up and start confidently. Many founders share their roadmap directly with agencies as a foundation for scoping and proposals.

Ready to bring clarity to your product plan?

I’ll help you move from messy ideas to a structured roadmap that gives you confidence and your developers everything they need.

"Fiona came highly recommended from Sharetribe and our vendor, Journey Horizon. She exceeded all expectations with her organisation, skill, and delivery. Her flexibility to work with us as we iterated on design was very accommodating. Besides being a joy to work with, she impressed us with her design sensibilities and UX recommendations. For a startup launching an innovative platform, Fiona was the perfect partner."

"To define Fiona as just a designer would be an injustice. She is a holistic online marketplace consultant who delivers high quality designs at lightning speed. Her ability to think through the objectives given by us, plan the entire user workflow, and finding the right solutions through her designs in a collaborative manner swiftly sets her apart from everyone else. We are very happy with the work she has done for InsightGig and would highly recommend Fiona to anyone looking for a professional designer for their online marketplace."

"If you're seeking a thorough, proactive, and professional designer with excellent communication skills, look no further than Fiona. She played a crucial role in launching my marketplace, offering valuable recommendations that saved me time and money in the long run. Acting as both a guide and designer, Fiona's expertise was invaluable during the startup phase. Despite the time zone difference, our collaboration was seamless, with completed design sections waiting for me in the morning. Fiona grasped my vision and created a design that felt clean and distinctly feminine, perfectly tailored to my target audience. Without hesitation, I would hire Fiona again for future projects.  I hesitated to write this recommendation because I'm afraid everyone will want to snatch her up!"
